Dear Brother Youssef,

Please thank every Daheshist brother and sister who is praying for us and sending us positive energy. We need it... On the one hand, we believe that things will work out. On the other hand, we're human and are bound to let fear steal valuable energy from us... So, indeed, the temptations are always there, until one's time is up and they "wake up" somewhere else...

I know I am speaking on everyone's behalf (if I may) when I express my deep gratitude for these prayers from the esteemed Daheshists who meet regularly at the Mission House. Especially Brother Kassim. I am honored (and frankly amazed) he even remembers me! I must have been 18 or 19 when he last saw me. He was probably at the Mission House when I left for the USA in August 1979 (a few days after the Doctor received the printed copies of "My Broken Hand" which turned out to be printed with the wrong title...)

Youssef, I want to thank you and commend for having the courage to come forward. I look forward to sharing with you (and our visitors) many engaging and fruitful discussions.

And, you are right about this business of "difficulties and temptations."

To be continued...

Your Brother Mario

Default Sharing an experience

My dear brother Mario,
Thank you very much for your letter. However I would like to share with you an experience which i had after i saw a dream.
Dear brother Mario,I have read a wonderful story which is written by our guiding beloved prophet. It is about an oriental dancer who used to dance on the music of musical instrument that is called "Rebeck".It is an old one stringed instrument.the story is about a person who used to fortell about events. Our guiding beloved prophet described that man to have a long beard.
Actually I saw that same person in a dream.I saw myself walking with him,in a very old market, and the date my go back to handreds of years.I was about 15 years at that time.and as we were walking,we saw a man sitting beside a water fountain that did not emmit water. But the man was in a miserable state,he was very sad,and crying, laying in earth. And the prophet asked him, what's wrong?,and the man replied,I have lost my wife, she has left and went to a place never to come back.
But the prophet replied,I will bring her back to you.And everyone who was there laughed. And the prophet said gazing in he eyes of the man,tap with both hands on the earth several times and say, what ever may come from God I accept.and te man did that and nearly after the sixth time,I felt something happened,so i looked back and for my astonishment I say a wonderful young lady smilling she just appeared miraculously, and she was gazing at her husband, and everybody who witnessed that miracle there cheered, and I shouted in arabic several times "GOd be exhalted".And I woke up.
I then remebered the story our guiding beloved prophet that has written, and my faith was raised, since there is always hope, faith, and charity,in life, and the followers of our guiding beloved prophetare and will experience grace and life in God's name.
of course that prophet whom i saw in the dream, was no one but our guiding beloved prophet, who is with us always to strengthen us in our faith.
My dear brother Mario, there is always something new with God,and i always ask him to keep us in his grace and protection. And God bless you.
Your brother,
Youssef Kabalan Salameh

Thank you for your kind words! I know all about moving to a different country etc. and I can certainly appreciate the situation.

I hope all is well with you!

And remember, however large or small, any contribution you make to this modest site is EXTREMELY appreciated! In my case, I have to tell you: Daheshville HAS become my extended family.

Default Conspiracy or Truth?

This is one instance where I am glad this forum exists... I HAVE to share this story with you. It involves a dream I had this morning and an incident that took place—maybe—in 1983.

Firstly, let's begin with the incident that took place years ago.

The Doctor, accompanied by a couple of Daheshists, went to Canada (by car). He returned with beautiful artifacts he purchased from there. These artifacts ended up being stored in the two car garage of the famous "Cottage" some of you (Arabic-speaking Daheshists) might have read about in his books of Stories and Legends. Anyway, I and a Daheshist sister were supposed to clean up the garage and put everything away inside the cottage, that way, nothing remained in the garage. And so it was. She and I went to task and got the job done... except for one trunk filled with —what else—the artifacts that the Doctor brought back from Canada. The sister said "OK, we're done, you can go." I reminded her that we still had that truck to put inside the house. She didn't want me to stay and insisted I leave. I, in turn reiterated... she nearly shouted at me "I WILL TAKE CARE OF IT, NO, GO, GO!"

And so I went.

Over a month passes by and the Doctor calls me up to Greenwich and I go to his study in the Cottage. I go in and there was another Daheshist there, "R.G".

In front of R.G. and in a quiet voice he said : "You nearly gave me a heart attack"

I freaked out and asked why he said that.

"Didn't I ask you to put everything inside the Cottage? Why was the box still in the garage, out in the open, where everyone can see it!"

Then he added that the sister blamed me. She told him that it was my fault. That I forget it there.

I pleaded my case.

He interrupted me and said "I know, when I confronted her, she became afraid and she lied"

I was relieved beyond belief that he believed me. In fact, he knew the truth all along. And, now, and because of this exchange, my faith in that Sister (who was the last person in the world, as far as I was concerned, to lie to the Doctor and bare false witness.

When I confronted her later in the building where the Dahesh Museum artifacts were stored, she laughed and said "how do you know he didn't have his reasons for telling you I lied?"

OK, that didn't make sense to me at all. Here I am, confronting her in front of another Daheshist sister, telling her that the Doctor said she accused me of leaving the box outside, and thus lying and bearing false witness, and all she does is shrug her shoulders, swing her legs (she was sitting on a crate), and suggest that the Doctor did all that on purpose...

Today, I dreamed I was with that Sister. In the dream, we were in an adjoining space to what seemed to be a big hall where a huge and posh soirée was taking place. She was happy, giggling... and she threw in the following bit of information:

"The Doctor is very unhappy with you." she said.

"Why?" I replied.

"All these sites. He is very, very upset. He said you can do whatever you want, go be by yourself... but these sites have to go."

You can pretty much imagine what I felt in the dream. It was as if she had taken the life right out of me ...

So I said "In that case, I'll shut everything down..."

I was devastated, she seemed happy, bouncing around and getting ready to return to the main hall... I turned around and began to make my way towards the exit, when something made me turn back and say ...

"But ________ this contradicts all the dreams I've been having in which I have been seeing the Doctor himself encouraging me!"

"Oh?" she said, and she went back to chatting to someone (I believe she had a cell phone on in the dream)...

"Yes... On June 1, I had a dream where... look, there is the SAME table I saw!" and I take her to the table I did in fact see in the dream of June 1, 2007, and where the Doctor kissed me on the cheek and gave me my special gift...

"That's the table! Your mother was sitting here, you were sitting here, and the Doctor was sitting right opposite me... you and your mother and a few other Daheshists were burning your prayers, saying the incantations..."

She interrupted me and began talking about incantations...

"Oh, yes, incantations, this is how I do mine" and she began to show me...

I was frustrated... She wouldn't let me finish telling her the dream. She wanted me to leave.

I even said to her: "You want me to leave, don't you..."

She responded playfully "Um,... Yeah..." then said "bye!"

I was devastated and I began to make my way to the exit once again... and once again, I was prompted to turn back and walk up to her.

This time I asked her the following question:

"_________, when we dream of the Doctor, doesn't that mean that it is real?"

"N.. n.. no..." she said. She was definitely coy and she was still smiling.

She added: "a dream is just that, a dream"

That's when I said: "But that condradicts everything I've heard"

"No, no, it's like that..."

"But (I cited another Sister) had a dream once where she saw that the Doctor was not pleased with her. After waking up, she went and spoke with him and he explained to her that when we see him in a dream that means that it is his spiritual fluid connecting with ours."

And that's when she said to me: "Noooo, that's not true."

And I woke up.

If indeed what we see in dreams is not true, not really happening, especially when it involves the Doctor, then I suppose all these dreams I saw and recorded were a figment of my own imagination.

But then again, and logically, so was the dream I saw today—in which that sister, who once lied to the Doctor to cover her own skin, was trying to convince me that everything I saw in dreams was a lie...

Thought? Advice? Please share.

I do sometimes find dreams very meaningful and thought provoking. But interpretation is sometimes dangerous when the outcome can have a dramatic affect upon you.

First from your personal experience you have reason to distrust this individual. There must have been doubt in the mind of Dr Dahesh when he questioned you, otherwise why would he have gone to the trouble of doing it. Was he in the habit of playing games with people? Who other than that person would have sown the seed of doubt? That person must have a pretty cool head to respond as you describe:

"When I confronted her later in the building where the Dahesh Museum artifacts were stored, she laughed and said "how do you know he didn't have his reasons for telling you I lied?""

It sounds like she is in the habit of playing games with people.

In regards to actually responding to the dream itself, you first need to decide whether it's an potential interaction between you and her. or whether it's a call for what is good for Daheshism. If that woman is telling you that something you are doing is damaging Daheshism, I would be skeptical of the message. It may be her personal wish, but not the spiritual wish of Dr Dahesh.

Well, I have never in my life ever attempted to interpret a dream before in my life. I have no idea what possessed me now.

Thank you for sharing your dream with us Mario. I think this says several things on a couple of levels.

Firstly, I think when the woman in your dream reads this, she will surely recognize herself.

Secondly, either all dreams mean something, or all dreams mean nothing. Either A and B are true, or A and B are not true, only A or only B cannot just be true. Granted we may have 'weird' dreams that may seem ridiculous and we can't begin to interpret them, but I am sure they mean something too. (might I suggest some really spicy cajun food right before bed time!)

Thirdly, I am of the belief that dreams DO mean something and dreams ARE important. I also am very confident to suggest that the woman you mentioned believes deeply in her dreams...despite what she told you in your dream.

Finally, what I think the essence of your last dream suggests is that you are being 'fed' the inner intentions and sentiments of this person... despite whatever may be said to your face by her. It certainly appears she harbours some sort of resentment or animosity toward you and what you are doing. I think you have been sent a spiritual "red flag" of caution...
